A fully qualified Prince 2 project management practitioner; I’ve 15 years experience working on £1m+ eCommerce website re-platofrm project and site migrations using both waterfall and agile methodologies. This includes working with SI’s on a Salesforce (Demandware) site migration project for Hotel Chocolat in 2017 and more recently a Magento 2 re-platform project with Radley London due to complete in 2020. Working on projects from start up and initiation through Platform Vendor and System Integrator selections and RFPs, discovery workshops building requirements and agile sprint development, prior to UAT and go live stabilisation. Using Prince 2’s methodology of Principles, Themes & Process to ensure best practice project delivery. on time and on budget.

Project Life Cycle

A) Pre Project Stages

1. Starting A Project

Mandated to provide quick project brief documentation including, lessons, project definition, approach, business case, PPD, and the project team.

2. Directing A Project

Agreeing with the project board governance for the project stages authorisation from initiation and objective tolerance variables.

B) Initiation & Planning Stages

3. Project Initiation Document

Tailoring prince 2 to provide risk, quality, change & communication approaches in addition to the project plan, controls and benefit management.

4. Platform Vendor

Shortlisting requirements and platforms based on budgets and kpis, through the RFP process and demos to negotiating costs and legals.

5. System Integrators

Shortlisting Systems Integrators and again creating RFPs and evaluating based on pitches and due diligence best practice; Discovery stage SOWs & MSA.

C) Delivery & Execution Stages

*Stage Management

Processes to 1. control and 2. deliver each stage, plus 3. managing it’s boundary. Creating highlight report documentation, managing delivery work packages and boundary reports.

6. Discovery

Kick off meetings, questionnaires, workshops and MoScW business requirement documentation via Confluence with the system integrators. UX & Delivery SOW.

7. Development

Moving to Agile; code base work packages Jira Backlog, Stories, Sprints, Scrums, Stand Ups, Burn Downs and maintaining documentation and highlight reports.

8. Pre Go Live

Team training, site product, category & content population, user acceptance testing and final change requests prior to agreeing go live with the board.

9. Post Launch

Prior to handing over to Product Owner & BAU, snag lists, and go live stabilization for bugs and issues under warranty prior to working with the SI support team.

D) Final Closing Stages

10. End Of Project

Completing follow on recommendations, the end of stage report against the PID is agreeing hand over acceptance to officially sign off the projects closure.
